Check the installed release and support status, install routine supported updates, restart and recheck. Record anything pending.
Antivirus, firewall and routine scan
Verify active protection, update Defender when it is the chosen antivirus, check supported settings and firewall, and run a routine quick scan.
Browser safety and unwanted promotions
Review up to two regularly used browsers. Address agreed antivirus promotions, misleading notifications, unfamiliar extensions and supported safety settings. Review tracking-cookie settings without breaking needed sites.
Safer account sign-ins
Help with up to two accessible important personal accounts, suitable extra sign-in protection and usable recovery arrangements. You enter and keep your own credentials.
Everyday security and backup review
Review screen lock, unfamiliar remote-access apps, existing backup status and recovery-key awareness. A new backup or major recovery project is separate work.
AI-assisted scam awareness and a written handoff
Practice recognizing fake warnings, suspicious messages and familiar-voice impersonation. Receive a plain-language results sheet and take-home safety guide.
Microsoft Defender Antivirus is built into Windows. We check that the chosen protection is active and current. A wanted, functioning antivirus is removed only with your agreement; uninstalling an app does not cancel its paid renewal.
If routine updates need more download or restart time, we record them as pending and arrange one brief supervised completion check of up to ten minutes.

Recognize convincing requests before you act.
A familiar-sounding voice, polished message or realistic video is not proof of identity. We practice pausing and checking through an already-known contact or official app. The teaching follows FTC guidance on voice cloning, impersonation, fake endorsements and other scams.
This visit reduces risk and builds awareness. It does not guarantee prevention of every infection, account compromise or scam, and it does not provide ongoing monitoring.
Scope and eligibility
This is a routine prevention visit for one personally owned home Windows computer with working internet and owner access. We check the specific Windows release and any Windows 10 extended-update enrollment before accepting the package.
Advanced malware cleanup, ransomware or forensic recovery, account lockout recovery, operating-system reinstall or major upgrade, broken update-system repair, hardware work and whole-home network audits are separate work. A simple scan is included; a complicated finding requires a separate agreed plan and total. We do not automatically add cleanup charges or double-bill overlapping tasks.
If someone already had unknown remote access or money was lost, tell us before booking. One clean scan does not establish safety after compromise.
Common questions
Can I arrange the visit for someone else?
Yes. Choose Arrange this for someone, use their visit location and confirm their agreement. They retain control of account access and sharing private findings.
Will the scan remove every virus?
No scan can promise that. Routine scanning and reviewing its result are included. Advanced or recurring findings need a separately agreed cleanup or recovery plan.
Is there a subscription or automatic upsell?
No subscription is required for this package. Any necessary license, upgrade or extra repair is explained before payment or additional work. A $199 request does not authorize extra charges.
Can software protect me from all AI scams?
No. Updated protections help with technical threats, while safer sign-ins and independent verification help you respond to impersonation. We teach practical habits without an AI-proof promise.
